Emerging Intellectual Property Issues in Nanotechnology

The talk will include a discussion on how the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) currently deals with nanotechnology and how the USPTO may deal with nanotechnology in the future.  There will be a brief discussion on how the USPTO dealt with biotechnology and business methods in comparison to how the USPTO is dealing with nanotechnology.  The talk will then discuss unique legal issues arising from nanotechnology.  Finally, the talk will provide some insights into potential claim strategies when drafting nanotechnology patent applications.
