NanoBio 2009 Poster Presentation Contest

Tuesday June 23, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

All graduate students are welcome to participate. Selected judges as well as the general conference participants will vote to determine the best presentation.

Abstract submission: June 12, 2009 by 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time.

Poster Presentation

Eligibility

1. The contest is open to post graduate students from around the world

2. No more than 3 poster presentations will be accepted from a research team

3. A research team participating in the contest must have at least one member in attendance at the NanoBio 2009 to serve as a poster presenter during judging at 6:00 PM on June 23

Participating Procedures

1. The poster presentation will be on a research topic listed on the conference web site: http://www.ianano.org

2.  Abstract submission:  http://www.ianano.org/abstract-submission-online.htm

3.  Deadline of abstract submission: by 5:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on Friday June 12

4. Poster material must fit within the display size which is 44 ˝” high by 91” wide less a 3” x 6” area in the upper left hand corner that is used for the poster number.

Poster Presenter Check-in

Your poster presentation number will be assigned to you on site at registration counter during the setting-up time:

Poster Setting-up

Monday  June 22, 2009 from 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM

Poster Presentation has been scheduled on Tuesday June 23, 2009  the following time frame.

10:00 AM- 10:30 AM: during morning breaks

12:00 PM to 1:30 PM during working lunch

3:00 PM- 3:30 PM: during afternoon breaks

5:00 PM- 7:00 PM: Poster Presentation Contest- during the Conference Reception

Registration:

Graduate student presenters and their professor or immediate supervisor may both participate in the full conference with an accepted abstract.

The student participating in the contest must register on-line prior to June 12:

The student’s PhD Adviser is invited as an invited guest to attend the entire conference free of charge.

Judging:

1. Posters will be judged on scientific concept, experimental results, contents organization, presentation, visual aids and response to questions during judging. A research member must be present to answer questions during the judging.

2.  Judges will be given a reasonable time to observe posters and ask questions.

3.  Posters will be rated according to the Official Score Card, by three judges and may include the faculty chair of the Poster Presentation Contest.

4. Judges shall be appointed well in advance of the contest by the Program Chair of the Poster Presentation Contest Committee.

5. At the conclusion of the judging, each judge shall indicate on the official score card. There will be 3 prizes:  1st (Gold Medal), 2nd  (Silver Medal) and 3rd Bronze Medal.

Winners will receive a full years membership to the International Association of Nanotechnology as well as Complimentary Conference Passes to any events held this year and to next year's NanoBio 2010.
